Old Ezra 101 proof
Posted by kris under bourbon review
So here is the way it’s been going. About a year ago I couldn’t get enough of Wild Turkey. Mostly because of the intense barrel flavor and the fact that it is high proof. And I like that combination. Well, so I made it a point to start traveling around the whiskey section. One of my first revelations was that this Ezra Brooks 101 proof did only two things but it did both extremely well: it was super barrel flavored and it was high proof. Plus, its only $16/bottle. Man that is one wicked combination. It is heavy on the back of the mouth the top, really oaky, but honestly, it’s super easy goin’ down. Not quite sipin’ quality but it goes down as easy as J.D. if not better. Honest. And is 101. Man I cannot get enough of this stuff. Not a huge fan of the other Ezra’s, they are okay though. I’ll grab some of the others soon and revioew them asap. Hopefully I’ll keep postin’.

Pingback from Evan Williams Green Bottle » The Bourbon Addict
July 25th, 2007 at 11:50 pm[…] Man, okay. Well honestly, the black bottle Evan sucks ass. No really it does. The flavor isn’t even close to oak barrel. Its got the spike just not the flavor. Now, the cheaper cousin of the standard Evan is the green bottle. Yea, its only $10.75 here. Sweet price. The only problem is that its not always fully stocked, but good thing I have gotten the liquor store employees trained It is almost like Old Ezra 101™ Lite, ya know? I mean like Old Ezra in character but only 40% the flavor, and 20% less booze per ounce. What I tend to do is such: i tend to drink the green bottle as the old standby but the Evan when I need the extra punch. This whiskey is so smooth I could drink a bottle in three drinks. Only 3 drunks. Yum. Smooth. Lite. Drinkable. ~KM « "Thank you. Come again!” Nude woman buys smokes at gas station, leaves in Ferrari | […]
