Evan Williams vs Jack Daniels
Posted by kris under bourbon review
The Evan Williams hits your tongue in a sort of horse-shoe configuration, leaving the front of the tongue open. The Jack Daniels is almost the exact opposite. The Jack seems to hit in the middle and the front of the tongue, not that the back is entirely taste free but it is close. Do not get me wrog, both are very very good. I guess, to me, the richness of the Daniels totally overhadows the thin taste of the Williams. I guess it isn’t the richness of the flavor isn’t the best way to describe what I am trying to describe. J.D. just has a more full flavor and hits more places on the tongue than does the E.W. To me, the full-tongue flavor is what I like the most, quite the contrary to, say, a scotch-whiskey.
So for me, it’s the JD over the EW.
